pathway to a Pluralist society
The pluralists skills are not only imperative to building an inclusive and plural world, but are pertinent competencies for the 21st century workforce and its leaders.
Empathy
Being able to see from others perspective. It’s learning about people with different cultures, experiences, and beliefs while withholding both judgment and agreement.
Inclusion
Recognizing the uniqueness and value of each individual within the society. To see all peoples, ethnicities, beliefs, and cultures as equals without emphasizing domination of one over the other–all of them having a significance in the world.
EQUALITY
Understanding that every individual is equal, and has a right to equal opportunities. No matter what their ethnicity, color of their skin, beliefs, disability, gender and sexual orientation might be.
CURIOSITY
A sense of exploration to discover and to understand other cultures, perspective, ideas and thinking. It is about respecting complexity and seeking something beyond what is visible—suspending judgment in order to discover untold stories, asking questions, searching for meaning and answers, and seeking new learning experiences.
Collaboration
Ability to work and cooperate with others who may have different cultures, experiences, and beliefs. To make wider connections, and make compromises when necessary to attain common goals for the good of the community and society at large.
self efficacy
Ability to challenge oneself with difficult tasks and be intrinsically motivated. To put forth a high degree of effort in order to meet goals, take responsibility for failures, and recover quickly from the set-backs.
